Ahhhh! Returning to the Quiraing was like finding a long-lost friend. Even on a sunny day (this one qualified), the Quiraing is unpredictable and dramatic.

If you look carefully, you may be able to make out the ruins of an old fort in the distant, darker green patch below. For perspective on height, see the sheep down below, in the foreground.

I shot “Isle of Skye, Scotland 2” less than 15 minutes after this; you can see how the conditions changed from one moment to the next. Fortunately, the heavy showers off in the distance stayed away—or I would have had another Olympic dash back to the car.
